Crewcab

Always ready for the unexpected

The Scania P-series CrewCab is full of features specifically tailored for emergency and municipal assignments: Ergonomics and safety are central to the design of the crew cab, without any compromises being made with regard to quality.

 

Available in two lengths and two roof heights, the CrewCab features various seating options for up to five passengers, a city safe window, and a separate climate system for the crew area.

CITY SAFE WINDOW
In cramped conditions, it may be difficult to see obstacles and vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists around the vehicle, in particular close to the corner of the vehicle on the passenger side. In P-cabs, the driver sits close to the eye-line of other road users, while the low dashboard, low side window, and optional city safe window offer great all-round visibility.

Crew Safety
As fast and safe vehicle entry/egress is essential for emergency service personnel, the crew area features convenient grab handles and a robust low boarding step. An optional auto-folding/stowing (triggered by door opening) staggered boarding step is also available - affording additional safety to fire crews burdened with breathing apparatus. Curtain airbags are available for the crew area, to protect against head injuries and glass shards in the event of roll over or a head-on collision.

FLEXIBLE CREW AREA
The P-series CrewCab offers several seating configurations including 3 or 4 individual seats; a bench seat with 3 or 4 seat belt positions; a bench seat without backrest (for crews travelling whilst wearing breathing apparatus), or without seats (for bodybuilder adaptions or equipment storage). A separate climate control circuit (and control panel) can be fitted in the crew area, allowing the rear-seated crew to adjust the temperature to their own requirements

ROOM FOR EXTRA
Having room for vital equipment is crucial in any emergency assignment. The CrewCab offers a wide variety of storage possibilities where the crew can store necessary gear. A drainage hole in the rear floor facilitates easy wash down of the crew area.
As is appropriate for a vehicle intended for use by emergency services, the safety and well-being of crew members was a primary aspect in the development of the new Scania CrewCab.

Optimised airflow

Front, roof, side, underbody – all areas have been analysed, designed and optimised to achieve the lowest possible aerodynamic drag. The shape of the cab and its corners, all gaps and angles have been narrowed and streamlined to achieve more efficient air flow and dynamic swage lines.

ROLL-​OVER AIRBAGS

Scania’s Crewcabs can be equipped with roll-over curtain side airbags, a security system integrated into the ceiling. The roll-over airbag targets one of the most serious consequences of rollover accidents, where drivers or passengers are injured in a collision or fatally crushed by their own vehicle.
